History
Built In 1868.
Binginbar Farms is a 3,850ha farm located at Gollan, nested between Wellington, Dubbo and Dunedoo in central NSW. Our family has been managing this land since 1868 in a sustainable and productive fashion. We plan to continue and improve upon this legacy to ensure future generations will be producing food for the globe on Binginbar long into the future.
Mix Integrated Farming.
Binginbar Farms is a vertically integrated farming business where dual-purpose wheat, canola and barley is grown alongside perennial pastures for the finishing of up to 70,000 lambs a year either on pasture, crops or grain.
Lamb Finishing and Trading.
Binginbar Farms does not breed any lambs on farm. Instead we source young lambs from all over Australia. The lambs are sourced as weaners, usually at 3 months of age from 25–40kg. “We generally get them to 36kg in the paddock on grazing crops or perennial pastures before they are drafted into weight categories and finished in the feedlot”.
To provide the full provenance story from the property of birth through to the consumers plate we utilise EiD tags to record all data associated with the individual animals. This has the added benefit of helping to maximise efficiencies throughout.
Finest Lamb Meat Today.
The lamb produced on Binginbar we can guarantee has been treated sustainably, ethically and humanely throughout the process. It is in our best interest to handle the lambs in a gentle, stress free way because when they are content is when productivity in at its maximum. It is also essential for maximum eating quality. A stressed animal produces low pH meat which results in poor eating quality.
